When you dual boot a computer, you place two or more operating systems on the same computer. Each operating system (OS) is installed on a separate partition (section) on the hard drive. You can only access one OS at a time, and to move from OS to OS you must reboot the computer. You can dual boot any two operating systems, such as Windows XP and Linux, Windows XP and Vista or two different Linux distributions.
